Meet Sophie's Daughter...

 

 

Hi, my name is Marianne and I'm a self-confessed Foodie and Polish Pottery addict! My love for both was inspired by my Polish mother, Sophie. She was a wonderful cook so it's no wonder that food, served on beautiful pieces of brightly colored Polish pottery, defines my fondest memories of home. A certain serving platter, a bite or even the mere mention of a particular food, can take me back to our cozy kitchen table where we celebrated family, friends and life’s many blessings.  

 

Sophie's Daughter is a way for me to share the delicious food and enchanting servingware that graced Sophie's table.

 

Pottery from Boleslawiec, Poland is one of the finest pottery produced in the world. Each piece of pottery is designed and hand painted by highly skilled artisans in a variety of stunning patterns and colors. Chemicals are not used in the manufacturing process; and the paints used for ornamentation are not harmful to the environment. The pottery is suitable for use in the oven, microwave and outdoor grill, and its highly glazed exterior makes cleaning a breeze; most pieces simply need to be rinsed with water and voila!  All pieces are dishwasher safe, making each piece of pottery a truly functional work of art.

 

Polish pottery breathes the spirit of Old World Europe into modern day America and shows us how to partake in the inherent joys of daily life through cooking and eating together on beautiful artisan bakeware and dinnerware that glides from the oven to the table to the dishwasher with ease.

Over the years my passion for food and appreciation for the arts has afforded me a dream career as a Publisher and Culinary Tourism Consultant. While I am proud of every aspect of my career, I have found my true calling in sharing the inherent joy of Poland's pottery and cuisine through Sophie's Daughter.
